Welcome to Gower Lavender, where the products are handmade, local and lovely, and the planet is at the heart of everything we do. We’re a small family company set up in 2017 by local couple Rae Howells and Phil Poucher. What started with a few lavender plants in our garden and a crazy idea about growing in partnership with mother nature, is now three lavender patches across the outstandingly beautiful Gower peninsula, and a range of gorgeous

lavender soaps, lavender hand creams, aromatherapy pillow sprays, lavender syrup and lavender hearts that we sell through independent retailers, at markets, or send out from us to you across the UK. We grow in harmony with nature, allowing pollinators to feed before our crop is lovingly brought in by hand, and then made into luxurious products and gift sets that we package in eco-friendly compostable boxes. We hope you enjoy exploring our eco luxury range.

”Please can you make us bespoke treat boxes with your lavender goodies inside?” 🪻❓🙏🏻

This was the challenge we were sent earlier this year by the brilliant charity @daringtodream5 - and it was an absolute honour to help them build these ‘Space to Talk’ gift boxes. The boxes are given to young patients with long term physical illness, as a pick-me-up during hospital stays, and they include vouchers for the hospital cafe, puzzles, colouring, tissues, pencils, an eco pen and a trio of natural lavender goodies. 💝

It’s Daring to Dream’s mission to help improve life for young people living with long term illness by supporting their emotional wellbeing, as evidence shows those with better emotional health have better outcomes. 🪻

We don’t usually provide things like this but we do love a challenge, and even more so when it’s for such a worthwhile cause 💜

Hummingbird hawk-moths - nippy little beasties! I know because one has been visiting our lavender and I tried to photograph it. Zizzing around, neaaaawww, like a little jet hummingcopter, ooh look ther… no, ther— … no there, doh, wings a blur, gone again, no chance 😵‍💫 I hope you like my filming attempts anyway 😂

I think we were very lucky to have such an interesting (and beautiful) creature pay us a visit. It’s known as Europe’s only hummingbird but it’s really a tiny dark flying moth with a long curled proboscis perfect for hovering in front of flowers to sip their nectar, and wings so fast they make a humming sound.

It might be too quick for the camera but at least the bumble bees know how to behave in front of the lens!

In a bid to use less plastic I bought some lavender and lavender beer soaps - they smelled amazing when they arrived in eco-friendly packaging, but the lavender scent when you use them is not in any way overpowering.
